It was never going to happen to me because couple of years back I had my carrier modified for taller tyres and it is heavy duty now What happened to your Discovery 2 today? What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

    Oils changed.

I changed the gearbox oil and the transfer case oil. The oil looked milky, emulsified almost. Where does the water get in? Buggered seals?
I also changed the front diff oil and topped up the rear diff oil. The 1/2 inch hole on the drain plug is no longer square. Those pesky rocks! It seems that the diff guards went in too late!
Filling the transfer case is a pain. There are other places to put a fill port that are easier to get too. I think about getting one of those extended sumps and drilling and tapping a hole to refill the transfer case, in a easier location.

The front diff oil looked good, the same colour that it went in.

    Check the breathers!

To check the breathers, start with removing the centre console?

I just look at the concrete under the car to check the colour of the various oils!

Ok so it got worse....on the way home it hiccuped, engine light came on, m and a came on, engine light went out and lost drive...no throttle response, neutral and rolled into a car park.... turn off count to ten and all good.
But still hiccups at 2500 rpm and then 3000 rpm when locked in sport mode...
Might be a kick down issue?
