I will rebuild the driveshaft then ponder whether to get a new one and have this as a spare.

Nice, I like it a lot. What a great way to get it through the inner guard also!

New top hose after the bung for the bleeder decided to separate from the rest of the hose and tread its own path into the head. Couldn't quite reach it as it dropped just inside the below the water outlet, the vacuum cleaner foiled its travel plans after numerous attempts using a mix of force and not so nice words to coax it out.
Luckily after the last time it was replaced I angled the hose clamp so I only had to go 3/4 retard underneath to get to the lower bypass pipe.

Feeling rather accomplished, then made the dumb decision to tackle the oil cooler hose after having a new one sitting there for 3 years. One learns new skills getting a 70 odd mm hose on both pipes with a gap of 10mm between them and only removing one bolt from the heater pipe...

30 minutes of pure unadulterated pleasure if your a masochist....

Although not Disco, front calipers on Clyde finally cacked it after 28 years of faithful service , always fun at 70k's having your brake pedal hit the floor faster than a $2 hooker
Stripped, cleaned, added some caliper paint, new pistons & seals, new pin kits. To add to the fun, 3L of brake fluid and the best part of the afternoon bleeding it out.
Rears will be next so I'll take the advise given to me to use 5m of bleed hose and just run it straight back to the master cylinder now that it full of fresh fluid, 4L of Super Dot4 cost me that bottle of Makers mark I had my eye on...

Ticked off a few items on the seemingly never ending list of jobs to do to the old girl.

New plugs, painted the underbody, replaced the broken steering wheel radio controls, changed out the park brake and hi/low gaiters, remounted the two way, new park brake shoes, and a bit of wax for good measure

Found about $2.80 in change hidden under the centre console so thats a win What happened to your Discovery 2 today?
