Fixed the driver window that was stuck down by pulling the door card and giving the motor a couple of taps with the handle of a screwdriver. Must have been a stuck brush
You may find that the motor may be shorted by carbon powder from the worn brushes.
I have found motors that are otherwise serviceable to have powder everywhere and after cleaning are OK.

Possible. Can these motors be disassembled?

I cannot recall as when I replaced my driver's side mechanism the motor was OK, but I had a Bosch motor go on a BMW M3 and that is what it was.
The motors looked similar externally AFAIR

Modified the return fuel line by chopping off the end that goes into the FPR Block, chopped off the quick connector on the return line then used a 6mm tube 8cm long to tie the fitting and fuel line together, then 2 layers of heavy duty heat shrink over the lot.

Extra room for hands without fuel cooler.
Okay.... I'll be the first to ask
Do you intend it to be a "permanent" modification?

I don't know enough about the TD5 to know why someone would remove the fuel cooler.
I assume that with the super high pressures that the fuel is subjected too, the cooler is there for a reason.

I remember when we changed the fuel pump on the brothers D2, and how warm the fuel was after driving for a short while.
Ambients were pretty average too(20-ish), so it wasn't like the tank built up any latent heat for the fuel to be so warm.

Is this supposed to be some kind of mod to increase power or efficiency or something?

The fuel cooler also doubles as a fuel heater in cooler conditions, it will basically try and keep the fuel warmer than it would be without it in cold conditions, and cooler than it would be without in hot conditions.

The car will run better and perform better with it in place as well.

    Cheers

I have a possessed Landy too! My windscreen wipers randomly come on while driving! There is no pattern to it. It's always just one swipe and then stop. Sometimes it might be followed by another swipe in 30 seconds but often not. So weird! Sometimes it will go hours and then do it again!

Was going to try and take the switch apart but very difficult to get to the two Phillips head screws as they are blocked by the steering wheel.

Move the steering wheel to its lowest position and use a short or 90 degree screw driver.
