    Diesel fuel leak

Found a diesel fuel leak today - the fuel pressure regulator fuel temperature sensor was very wet with fuel - do they fail at all? After a little research i found that the same sensor is used for coolant temp as well as fuel temp except that for the fuel temp application a metal rubber bonded seal is required however mine has only a copper washer which is only supposed to be used in the coolant application. Another job to be done over the xmas break

    I recon so John D2

I have spent that much money buying stuff for the DII that I would be mad to buy anything else.

I mean, what on earth would I do with a Nanocom(?) if I didn't have a Disco?

Have found a low mileage one near home, just have to hope it is still there when I get home after Christmas.

    Again, cheers one and all.

My D2 got new oil, new filters (oil, air and fuel), new brake fluid and a bunch of new grease where applicable.
The driveline backlash is getting noticeable so I'll have to do something about investigating that pretty soon. Otherwise it's all good approaching 375k km.
    Cheers,

About 2 weeks ago I came out to go to work only to find my key lock transfer bar snapped so the key free wheeled in the lock...and the bcu goes to sleep overnight and needs to be woken up by using the key first thing.
Some hrs later...managed to set the alarm off by popping the bonnet and that woke it up and let me use the remote to unlock it....
Scrap work for the day, spent it pulling the door apart, making a new transfer bar from steel not cast zinc, and fitting a new drivers door actuator.

Then a couple of days ago the three amigos came for a visit...
Got it scanned today, SVS fault.
    Option B about to commence....

Ouch, no. So only 2 then. If it's under warranty then it doesn't count. Us with the Valente and a new water pump after 11 months and new bits for the electric sliding doors 25 months and 25.25 months.

The D2 was refusing to turn over yesterday while on holiday in bright, it was either the crank angle sensor or starter. A couple of door & bonnet slams got it turning over.

Figured it could be the starter, since it was still rocking a bush fix that I had to make when the starter insulating plastic disintegrated and arced the main power to let all the smoke out 6 mths ago at 11:00 one night near in the bush I disconnected the battery the rolled out the swag and took all the next day to diagnose and fix the issue .

So got back to Melbourne after lunch today let the car cool, and started to remove the starter (I had a rebuild kit in the console) I got the bolts loosened and started to remove the wiring and WTF the relay wire plug virtually fell of when i went to pull it off. (so that was the issue a loose connection and a bump on the car was enough to get it turning over) any way I finished what I had started and put the rebuild kit in and the old parts are good enough for spares.

Also noticed while under the car a weep on a coolant hose , I'll sort out in the morning (didn't notice the other day)
