How long since you checked the level?I think that I may not have fully tightened the rad cap when I topped up with a couple of ml about a week ago.
but it’s strange that the car acted normal towing the van from Yeppoon th Noosa.
Maybe it lost some coolant on the way.
I am going to bleed the system today.

I put a MT on the 6th wheel.
Bled system and it took over two liters. Either I had an airlock last time I changed coolant a couple of moths ago or head gasket dead.
Any recommendations on block up stuff?
I will find out tomorrow whether it is using coolant as towing van from Noosa to Main Beach.

if you end up using any of those 'stop leak' products .. expect to replace your radiator once you decide to fix any actual problem ...
they don't just stop leaks, they also stop flow!

For all intents and purposes, you couldn't see (light) through any of the tubes.
Note that this is my D2 V8 little project. I thought I worked out what was wrong with it overheating the way it did. I replaced pretty much all the coolant apparatus(thermostat/waterpump/hoses/etc .. I didn't find any trace of whatever was used to stop leak it .. other than the 90% blocked rad. Where it's actually gone, is anyones guess. One day I'll get around to pulling the dead motor out and fixing it. The motor is going to the great aluminium scrap heap in the sky. Totally kaput!. So I'll tear it down and see where the stuff went .. if it made it past the rad that is! [biggrin]

We haven't seen weld it do that, I have heard some will though.
Well I placed a 600 ml water bottle under the overflows and it’s dry as a bone after doing 100 km or so including some steep hills requiring second and 95 img highway. Level in header tank has not moved.
Its got me stuffed . Latest theory is that when I changed coolant in winter it had an airlock even though I bled it.
