Here's a pic from 10 years or so ago near Ballards Lagoon SA of the current owners father in the same vehicle.

Is there any reason why the vehicle could not have been driven forward in the first place thus preventing it looking like a stranded turtle and wreaking the front yard?

Looks like you have had a run in with that famous earth moving contractor, Phil and his unreliable mate Con Pacshin. What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Pretty easy to do, I needed to drop the tie rod off and have car up on chassis stands to get the axle hanging as far down to get the sump between the cross member.

Also needed to loosen the front coolant hose metal section and the auto lines and tied them clear of the front of the sump.

Replacing sump gasket I put it up on the block first, did the sealant across the rear main seal and front timing cover and then used some small cable ties in every second hole to hold the gasket in place.

Pretty sure there's a heap of tutorials on here, I've read a few used some of the tricks mention to make it easier.

Also used the cardboard template trick to number each bolt as removed then used that to do the correct tightening procedure as per RAVE

    Cheers Lemo
