Got into a smash. (Everyone is ok) Was hit from behind by a newish CRV. I have a steel rear bar. She didn't. Guess who came off 2nd best?
I only did the cardboard bit. I put the car up on jack stands and the sump slid right out without drama. Didn't loosen any hoses or take off the tie rod. It's tight but it fits. Check out the discovery 2 uk site for a great breakdown on the procedure.

Do you have standard suspension??
I found there was no way of getting the sump out without taking off the tie rod, I did give it a good go first, before relenting.
Re the front pipes I could have juggled the sump in there but laying on my back with oil and dirt getting in my eyes, I wanted it going as smooth as possible.
Was a bit of a juggle getting the sump back over the oil pressure/pump that hangs down!!
Cheers Lemo

Tested all electrics all seemed good (im no leco). Ordered new fuel pump it arrived quick smart (surprised the poo out of me). Fitted said pump, relatively easy and straight forward job, and the beast fired. (well as much as a TD5 can be a beast) Hi - Lo runs again, ran her until it got to operating temp all good.
So two more items on the list ticked lots more to go. Still loving the disco they are so easy to work on. And if it snows at the Barringtons in the next day or two like predicted we can drive to the snow yeha. Sorry no pics just to much to do tonight.
