Fresh oil, fuel and oil filters and new sump plug.
Freeze and release, new 17mm socket and 450mm breaker bar all worked according to the manual!
Will be replacing the underperforming plastic diff filler plugs.
Penrite HPR 5 - 40 FULL synthetic (deliberately antagonistic)
That oil filter is difficult on a Td5.
Now for the trans cooler project...
Driveline done! Ashcroft HD torque converter is in, it's everything I ever hoped for, transfer case rebuilt , driveline fluids all flushed and renewed, shafts and unis cleaned and checked and greased.
Also managed to get the rear camera system installed (1 cam for the rear and another through to the back of the van).
Still some wiring to tidy up, another USB outlet on the dash and a phone cradle and antenna kit plus iPad ram mount to source and install.
The D2 is almost ready to go.....
If only the van was this close......huge list of jobs to do on it before the end of the month.
What size iPad do you have?
If you search ebay, look for a cradle that's specific to your iPad size/type .. don't get a generic holder(been there, never again).
I have a Galaxy Tab 7" and the holder is brilliant.
I have the longer RAM mount arm for the tablet, which sits on the centre dash area, and a shorter RAM arm for the phone which I've placed to the right of the dash, and between it and the A pillar.
For a D2, you want a 5" arm for the centre dash area, and a 3" arm for the space between the dash and the A pillar which will have the devices mounted inline with the face of the dash(ie. not too deep into the dash and not poking out too far from the face of the dash).
If you go through ebay, to get your RAM kit, look for an ebayer named MrMobile .. I got my stuff from them.. good service.
hope that makes sense.

What size iPad have you got?
I can send you pics of my Galaxy Tab 7" setup using those RAM items described above.
The difference will be of course that my 7" tablet is far smaller than a 10" and will obscure your view over the bonnet.
Tried that(kind'a) with a 10" Samsung Tab .. but didn't like it.
I temporarily placed the 10" lower to the same height as the 7" but forward of the face of the dash, but it obscures the central vents and radio face .. workable, but far from ideal. Actually very annoying.
Samsung also have a wide screen(16:9) model 10" model which is the same overall height as the 7" tab I have and if I eventually update the old 7" will go that way.
The tablet holder I got is very nice to work with and is a slab styled device. It's configurable for multiple sized tablets via various end adapters. You just choose the approximate size you require and fit the appropriate ends.
One end slides open as you slide the tablet into the holder, so it's an easy one handed operation.
The ends have hollows to allow cables to be easily attached/removed for continuous power.
The 4 fingered tablet holders that claim to hold multiple sized tablets are usually badly designed, and almost guaranteed that one of the 4 fingers will be pressing on an external button that either shuts the tablet down or turns the volume up, or whatever ..
I had an almost new one sitting in my bin a few years back .. worst waste of money ever! Fitting the tablet to those multi tablet holder types almost always requires a two handed operation too. Not a problem, but an annoyance all the same.
For the windscreen mount section this one is what I have: 5-1/4" long RAM suction cup and the 2.5" round mount
To that I've added a 7" RAM tablet holder. That's the type that slides open and springs closes called a cradle. The only holder type that actually holds the device no matter the conditions.
On the 2.5" round end you see various holes, 4 of which line up with the 4 holes on the tablet cradle backing. The other holes on the 2.5" round end line up for other types of mount ends. I highly recommend the 2.5" round end for mounting that tablet cradle type. It doesn't flex!!
The 1" ball type, with the diamond shaped end .. like on the suction cup end.. flexes too much when mounted onto the tablet cradle. Works fine on the suction cup end tho!
I have my tablet mounted barley a finger's width off the top of the central facia console, and no matter the surface of the road/track it doesn't flex to the point where the tablet bumps onto the dash top. Of course it does shake about a little as you'd expect any mount too, but if the suction cup is fixed nice and solidly and the twist lock on the arm is done up tight, it doesn't flex much at all. Be weary of those flexible type mounts.
hope that helps.
I'll get a couple of pics ASAP for 'ya.

7" holder mounted to screen above dash.
D1, but D2 dash is basically the same dimensions.

can just squeeze my index finger between dash and tablet cradle. Minimises obstruction over bonnet. Sitting in the driver seat as normal, the top of the 7" tablet is just below the edge of the bonnet, so road and bullbar view isn't blocked.

this cradle type makes it easy to mount tablet one handed. hold at left edge, and slide tablet with thumb across to the right and the spring loaded end guides the tablet nicely. I mount the contraption with just enough room so that the extending RH edge only just hits the instrument binnacle when extended.. otherwise it's mounted to reduce reflections from wherever.

99.9% of the usage of my tablet. Running OziExplorer in that location in the D1.
Next update will be of a larger screen, and more importantly higher res screen.
