    might not blow, but leds can stop working so i found out on my Boat leds. where a cluster had some go out.

    Totally blew out my LED head torch/light when I fitted LiIon AAs(at 3.7v each) when they're s'pose to run at the normal 1.5v.
    Quite a loud POP too when the poor LED chip 'exploded' violently.

    The LEDs in the dash do not blow. Not that I have heard. These LEDs light up those three friends.

    Permanent solution to 3 friends is to get some fine side cutters and amputate their legs on the board,
