It's still here apparently. So, airbag off, wheel off and a cobalt drill?

Oh cool. Also grab the driver door handle with the lock also.

Airbag off, wheel off, switch cluster out, binnacle cover off, instrument panel out. Wires out of the way

The 2 security bolts, centre punch then very carefully to make sure you're on centre, drill slowly a pilot hole, it'll be easy for the pilot hole to wonder due to the dome head, and then in with a bigger drill to pop the head off. I measured the replacement bolt today, its a really weird one that snaps the hex head off when you torque it, but I'm pretty sure it is an M8x1.25 12.5mm long, and I'd be inclined to just get an 8.8 allen keyed cap screw to replace it with. Because you drill the head off, you may need to easy-out the remaining bolt in the locking mechanism.

I have done this. Replaced the ignition barrel. Can't remember how the **** I did it.
BTW do you have the pin that holds the door to the body? I lost mine.
    Or the radiator grill?

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

I replaced mine with LEDs, now the trailer blinker telltale only works when I have a trailer on.

Here we go, check out the new uninstalled bolt for the steering/key lock - I've never seen bolts like this before. When torqued the top part with the hex snaps off leaving the dome head remaining. The M8x1.25 x12 hex cap screws were just from the local nut and bolt shop. The cap screws are 12.9's rather than 8.8's so a lot stronger than the factory bolts I would expect. I don't think regular bolts will fit the mounts.

I've seen 'em. New ignition locks often come supplied with 'em.

I'm going to try and get down there tomorrow and see how I go getting the old one off....
