    FOUND IT!
Thebloody hose underneath the drain hose has split at the T.
I have bodged it up with self amalagamating tape and Tarzans grip so hopefully will hold. I will see if I can get a new one tomorrow.

    Regards PhilipA

OK big shout out to support Rick’s 4WD on the Gold Coast.
I went to buy a hose and when hearing I was towing and 1200 km from home, he found time this afternoon to fit me in and do the repair even though he is booked out to October.

What a weight off my mind as although my repair with self amalgamating tape was holding it could fail at any time.
I think I will sleep better tonight.

So if you live on the Gold Coast Rick is the bloke to see but book well ahead! He has about 40 years of LR experience .

    Regards PhilipA

    Rear prop shaft Joy!

I have taken the rear prop shaft to work and a mate has welded a square bar to the bush. A few taps with the hammer and out came the bush. Thanks to RTT who posted pictures of this. It worked well.
One question, which way does the bush go in? I seem to remember that the flat part is on the outside and that the spring seal part is on the inside. Have I got it right?
I also removed the old uni joint. I'll grease up the new one and install it over the weekend.

Finally got around to spending some time on the D2. Put the driver's rock sliders back on and took off (read...broke) the front roof winglet/rain gutter corners and A Pillar trim chasing a leak. I think I found it. No silastic at the corner of the A Pillar adjacent the bonded windscreen and the channel filler putty has contracted slightly. Will use Sikasil external clear sealant for that (sikaflex is a little agressive for my liking in this application).

Have ordered Dave's gutter corners and Landynut's fibreglass A Pillar outer covers. Keen to get her sorted. Gave the interior a clean. Nice to hear the 4.6 purring again too.

    Cheers

Washer bottle and spray system repair.

Well that was an interesting job.

The orginal bottle and spout had cracked from the UV - heads up on that one for anyone with a bullbar that exposes the plastic to UV light!

Bought new bottle but couldn't get a new spout.

Bought a 2nd hand bottle to get the spout. Bottle had cracked in transport - heads up on buying a used one that has been behind a bullbar again.

Bought another set off ebay, forgetting I had a new bottle in the garage and I already now had a replacement spout.

Turns out the D2 and D2a bottle are different. I was ok though.

The plastic spout holder at the top is brittle, don't force it out of the bodywork or it will snap, slide the spout out of the holder and leave the holder in place - yes its hard to do.

When reassembling, the spout is a really tight fit into the bottle. Lube it up with dishwashing liquid and it will slide straight in.

The plastic hose joiners in the piping system are insanely brittle. The 2 near the bottle at the elbow I replaced with Bunnings irrigation connectors. The one way valve near the first windscreen washer (just before the elbow) was also reducing the flow to a dribble. That was replaced with an irrigation fitting also and so far the drain back isn't a problem - I'll probably eat my words there. The jets now squirt with a LOT of force!

Headlight washers wouldn't spray... after cleaning the connections, testing other pumps etc still no good. Then worked out the headlights have to be on for them to pump (every third press on the washer lever).

Good to go again and I have enough spares to do it all again next time it needs it.
    Cheers

Changed the low beam globes after both of them blew at the same time.

Replaced with Narva 150% plus globes on special at Supercheap.

Watched u tube video on how to do it = all went well.

Gave the car a tub as well.
    Cheers

Thats a worry. It also makes you wonder what roofracks do to the gutters.

Yep Simon I agree. I have run 3 bar gutter mounts for quite a long time and have put weight up there on a number of trips including over some nasty corrugations which wouldn't have helped. Cheers
