    Disco 2 starter

    A friend of mine has a starter motor that requires the contacts replaced on his Disco 2 TD5. He will be in Melbourne on Monday. He has tried a few places and cant find anyone to replace them.
    Can anyone offer assistance for a repairer in the Melbourne area?

    So, am I reading this right, you're having trouble finding an auto elec to repair a starter motor?
    So, are all the auto elecs in Melbourne so filthy rich they don't want the business?
    What is the reason they give for refusing to repair?
    Try "auto electrician" in the yellow pages. If you are still having trouble, PM me and I'll send you contact details of the company that repairs mine.

    He has rang a few and they keep telling him they are a sealed unit and want to sell him a new starter. It has a standard denso starter

    They are an auto electrical wholesaler. Sorry don't have their part numbers.
    The contacts can definitely be replaced, they are not a sealed unit, we used to sell heaps of them but import costs rising we stopped stocking them.
