Tips for getting transfer case fill plug out

I'm trying to remove the plug on t/c to top up but it is not moving with breaker bar and the breaker bar is flexing! Any tips to get it moving?

Failing that is there any alternate way to get oil into the t/c?

X2 on the wobble extension. I can't think why the breaker bar would flex, maybe some super type of loctite? Can you warm it with a blow torch?

Either a wobble extension or use a 3/8 ratchet and extension with a 1/2 inch converter on the end.
I was going to do that 2 days ago, but I couldn't find the damned converter, so I had to wing it with an extension on an angle. Must buy a 1/2 wobbler.

I find the sliding T handle or whatever it's called in my 1/2" set worked for me. Still needed a lot of persuading. Can't believe the (lack of) thinking in that layout.

I got it out with my breaker bar with some leverage thanks to a length of threaded gal plumbing pipe (from Bunnings). I agree with JWB not much thought put into the location of the fill plug!!

My one is leaking like a sieve ATM - more repair bills I expect

Not having access of a hoist to gain more length for leverage, I have used a 1/2 breaker bar , laying underneath and used my leg and foot to push on the bar, ( leg muscles are stronger than arms) but never had it that tight that the bar flexed.

My god! :O Where on earth do these people live that think they need to do stuff up so tight? Transfer case fill plugs are only 25nm as they are a tapered thread type ,drain plugs are 30nm. In doing up the plugs too tight will result in stretched threads and lack of sealing. And yes I have encountered it on mine too.
And what have I done? Drove to Maryborough , then Brissy and picked up some 2a panels Yep, just got in and drove it

I used a half inch breaker bar directly in the plug.
I slid basically half out from under the car, put my feet up against the chassis rail and heaved on it.
    I hate that job.
Unfortunately my Transfer also leaks like a sieve so it will have to come out some time!

    Hmmmm

All that I have ever used is a 1/2 inch rachet handle. Pull the handbrake cable out of the way a little bit, put the bare rachet in place and loosen until the plug can be undone by fingers.

I hope that wasn't too technical, but why do people try to over think simple tasks and make them into a triple reverse with one and a half twists in the pike position, when all that is needed is a swan dive???

    Cheers,

    Jason

    PS, ducking the flack already
