It's crazy because the hone marks are still in the bore and it looks like a bought one...I just dont think these motors should be re-assembled without studs.

You are probably right. I will let you know if my stock HG with studs on the 4.6 gives up...but I have removed the scuba Lpg tanks so that should liberate some more life also.
