Would you recover from these?

This is an original Landrover STC50025 stainless steel nudge bar. It has 2 recovery points built into it. Would you use these for a recovery?

It doesn't have recovery points. It has tie down points. For shipping or on a tow truck. If that.

Those tie down points may have just enough strength to hold a pair of those oh-so-amusing testicle shaped dangly things you see suspended from the towbars of Patrols, but I wouldn't trust them any further than that.

Unless you really think that the person trying to recover you needs a bar shaped hole in the back of their head.

These are what I recover off, yo also use an RUD style recovery swivel eye mounted to the bullbar if you elect to subscribe to the notion of thought that bullbar recoveries are okay, which I'm on the fence about, or you could use a hook type one mounted in the same spot as mine to the chassis.
The downside of my style recovery points is angled pulls damaging the shackle pin, as explained by Tank.

Basically there's nothing on factory fittings I'd recover off, with the exception of the tow hitch

I do like the idea of them being on the front of the vehicle, as most of the ones I've seen you have to get under it (pita in mud), except those swivel eyes. It solves my problem of my fishing rod holder though as I don't think I want a bullbar this time. I wonder if I can fit this as well as a set of the APT/Philco type?

Pretty sure fishing rod holder's are technically illegal...
There's a lot of the pommy lads who have fitted philco style recovery points with stock bumpers, it does require some very minor modifications though.

Yes I believe they are illegal, when not in use. I find with this type they are easily removed. Currently have them bolted to the roof rack facing forward, that's ok too.

Just a really nice bar is all, somewhere I can put some lights. I have a nonstandard nudgebar now but it looks awful.

Yes I found these photos of what they are doing over there. Looks like a solution for those who don't want to get under the car to hook up and don't want a bullbar. Doesn't look that strong though, only 11mm bolts and 8mm plate. I'm sure my mate Clubba will say it won't work (not trying to be inflammatry here), but again if it were beefed up a little might be an acceptable solution?
