Hmmm. That's what the reco gearbox I recently had installed is like. It's fine when warm though. All in all I'm not impressed with the reco box but the problem is that I can't afford the time and expense to get it rectified. I really should have gone with the Ashcroft box but at the time I was trying to keep costs down. Didn't work out that way though. Oh well at least I managed to get a new clutch, CDL linkage and oil pump bolt at the same time. I'll have a go at the people I got the rebuilt box from and see if they'll come to the party with a replacement box and the costs of getting it fitted. I don't hold out much hope and I can't do it myself unfortunately.

The old box had done 350k km before fifth gear started making HORRIBLE noises.

I know this as I am looking at a rebuilt Manual, R380 for mine.
I imported an Ashcroft. Brilliant, but I suggest that you search for my thread, Importing stuff...Grrr...
I ran into a few pitfalls, which I describe, and there are lots of other folks who did things differently. Could save you a LOT of money.

And get the 'Suffix L' box.
