    Td5 Leaking Camshaft Carrier

    Hi all,

I have the head off my td5 for the 2nd time in 5 years now due to a leaking cam shaft carrier-head interface. Last time I did the head gasket, I used Loctite 318 which lasted about a year until I got a leak on the Rear RHS corner of the head, just above the FPR. I have reassembled the head again now using Loctite Master Gasket as recommended by MR automotive, however I can see this happening again.

Is it possible for the camshaft carrier to become bent during removal and refitting? And has anyone else had this issue?

i've recently replaced my head gasket and sealed the cam shaft carrier with loctite 518. To much disappointment i too developed a leak at the rear rhs corner, however this leak has appeared to have fixed itself (it still has oil haha).

it's been about 2 months since the job and over 4000km travelled.
