    Volts dropping.

    In the last week I've noticed as the temperature goes up the battery volts drop. When it's cold in the morning it will run at 14.2v but as the day goes on it slowly drops down to around 13.3v when it's hot (high 30s). The regulator is only 6months old. Battery is only 8months old and sits around 12.6v when the vehicle is not in use. Is the regulator over compensating for the heat? 13.3 is a bit low for battery charging. It doesn't drop if your turn all the lights on so it seems to be able to supply plenty of current. Thinking the regulator may be out of spec.

    Sounds about right

    Probably nothing to do with the temperature of the day.
    When you start the engine in the morning the alternator needs to bring the battery voltage back up, once the battery is back to 'normal' the regulator reduces the voltage so as not to cook the battery.
    Remember it is a 12 volt battery so once back up to full charge 13+ is fine.

    I agree. Your alternator regulator is working well. The disco 2 alternator is very good. As you say it is charging correctly to the conditions the battery is under. 12.6 volts is a perfectly charged battery voltage. 2.1v each cell and there are 6 cells in a 12v battery.
