Mine are the same, and while four wheel driving I believe they make noises of complaint. But I have not checked to be certain it is these bushes. By noises it is a clunk when the wheel unloads.

They're on their way out. When they fail, the centre of the bush looks like it would just about fall out.

Polyurethane vs rubber bushes?
do the Polyurethane make the vehicle feel any different?
I understand they can squeak a bit??
do they last longer than rubber?
Does anyone out there have any experiences with replacement bushes they can share?

My radius arm bushes were looking slightly worse than the photos in this thread. I fitted Polybush Kit 20 Discovery Series 2 - Land Rover - Polybush to my D2. I got the kit cheap as the watts link to chassis bushes were missing.
Ease of fitting was the main reason for me, the reduced price was a bonus. As each bush is three piece (left, right and inner crush tube) they can be fitted by hand without and special tools or presses.
I couldn’t feel any harshness in the ride after fitting them, and no noticeable reduction in suspension flex.

I recently fitted Superpro bushes. Think diff end bushes went in with 6T press, chassis end were 2 piece and hand fitted. Ride is good. Hardest part was removing original chassis end bushes. That took some doing.

they appear to be a good thing with the lifetime warranty on them
I guessing im gonna need to leave this with my mechanic to install them

I've generally always gone with polyurethane for both road cars and 4WDs. Often easier to source and much easier to fit.
Depends, what brand of polyurethane, hardness and which particular bush part it is.
In the case of the radius arms on my D2a, I feel that it's stiffened my vehicle up a bit and slightly reduced the bump absorption. I'll say that with the following caveat - my old rubber bushes were likely original - so almost 17 years old and 280,000km. My vehicle was off the road for 12 weeks while the bushes and other work was being conducted - so long time between drives to compare the two and during this time I was driving a stock standard D1 V8 so might actually be comparing that in my mind rather with the extra stiffness being the HD springs in my D2a...
I've never experienced this. If they do likely installation issue - incorrect greasing or not cleaning properly.
Depends on the brand, which particular part, compared to what rubber (genuine or Britpart crap?), if installed correctly (contact parts thoroughly cleaned up and greased properly, torque right, etc).... I would at least expect a similar life span though.
