Alloy plate on dash for mounting electronics

Hi all. Anyone got a piece of black anodised alloy plate on their dash for mounting cameras, phone cradles etc? How affixed? Pics?

    Cheers

I don't think it'd be a good idea to have metal on the dash in case of a crash.....

Seen a few discos with an array of toys, wonder how they can keep theirs eyes on the road when monitoring all the gizmos and watching and playing with their nanocoms

If the plate/sheet is sikaflexed down and say 3mm thick and then the devices are screwed down into it they might be less likely to fly off in a (particularly rear end) collision. If a plate on the centre of the dash causes intrusion damage you have a lot more to be worried about... Cheers

I made up a small phone mount using C channel and screwed it to the dash where one of the rubber recess mats sit. Not holding much load though.
