The two I have come in handy for storing old car polish tins full of globes, fuses, tyre valves, and the like. Of course, if you don't pack them with rags or similar , everything flies out over the rough bits. These drawers sound ok, but a bit heavy. Think I will stick with the custom aluminium draw makers just over the gateway, bit more expensive, but well made. To your size.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
pro tip
After you install your titan drawers, don't bother trying to open cargo door from inside!
Probably not something everyone bothers too much about but I removed my battery and battery tray today, then later locked car manually, only to fin it impossible to later open the cargo door without refitting the battery and using central locking.
probably worth remembering that if you have a central locking failure you may never be able to open your rear doors and gain access to drawers again!!!
I've just installed a set of the 900mm drawers. Some good advice on here about them. Thanks for the tips.
I cut around 20mm off the front of both tops plus trimmed the metal edging so it still looks neat (actually I did a better job than the original but for $325 I didn't expect great craftsmanship!).
I left the slide handle at the front.
I removed both door bins and refitted the l/h one just higher than the drawers
The handles of the drawer are tight against the inside of the rear door though and are making indentations, but this shouldn't cause any damage as the interior trim of the door is quite padded.
I used turnbuckles on the rear tie down points to secure the back of the drawers.
I have the 5 seat D2 and the only thing I really have to add to the conversation is that there are captive nuts under the carpet for the rear seats (that were never fitted to my vehicle). So I was able to bolt the front of the drawers down to these M8 nuts. Note they have a little black plastic threaded insert which I initially thought was an M6 nut. I bought some stainless steel bolts, screwed them in and they just keep spinning and spinning until out came the plastic insert. So back to the shop to swap them for M8sIf anyones interested I can work out the positions of those captive nuts as I had to have a dig around to find them in the first place.
As the carpet and soundproofing is so thick its a good idea to pack the bolts out with a spacer or washers.
I have had my Titan drawers for 8 months now and have done 18k that includes 3 trips to Sharks Bay and a trip to the Pilbara Fishing/camping and ticky touring.
Lots of corrugated roads and bouncing around on the beach/tracks.
I had a problem with the right hand drawer catching on something that was bloody annoying so I took off the top of the drawer to find out what the problem was.
It turned out to be the screws that holds the stopper for the drawer were too long and were catching on the body of the drawer assembly, I changed these out for a couple of shorter screws and it now slides in and out perfectly.
While I had the top off I checked all the bolts on the rollers and none were loose, I also took the top off the other side as well and found No problems there either.
So far I am pretty impressed with these drawers![]()
