Trout that my friend is articulation 😁😁😁 (You should see hole on the other side). Gaffe is because the APT rear bar (excellent as it is) is a hard inteference fit with plastic trim on that side and was pushing it off. I have now cured that by flat filing the end of the trim.

    Cheers

No worries, It just looked reminiscent of my truck when the air suspension carked it on me 400ks from home .

Very steep entry to Palm and other pics. D3 and d4, Triton and lifted Lux didn't make it up. Far steeper than it looks and big axle twisters half way up Palm exit

Everyone forced to take same line too given how steep and close cutting was

I also went with the steel springs option after several attempts by my LR shop to fix the air problem.
I got a set of standard height heavy duty springs to replace the air bags and haven't looked back, The ride is Not as smooth but I KNOW that they won't let me down now

Just for clarity ( Mine, not yours ), are you saying none of those vehicles made it, but the D2 did?

I did that with mine, but lifted. Sure, I don't come back and find the towbar nearly touching the ground, but now I have to keep my teeth clenched or lose fillings. Maybe I went a 'little' firm.

As I carry all my recovery gear and a good selection of tools plus other odds and sods around with me all the time I have a fair bit of weight in the back of the truck So the ride isn't bone jarring at all.
For me I find the ride with the springs to be rather good But not as smooth as the air springs and I am quite happy with the set up.

I actually haven't tried mine fully loaded. Be interesting. It did seem better when towing, but I put that down to the helper airbags I fitted at the same time as the springs.

More...tamer crossing. On this step there were only 2 vehicles that made it up (like Palm) without winching. The double locked 70 series ute with 35's muddies and my D2...😁 (easily). Deep hole on left right at base of step.
