It does nothing to the odometer, the auto correction is valid only for the BCU so if the odometer reading is different the BCU will addapt to it as long as the odometer mileage is higher and if it's lower it will just flash(but work) untill the error warning is disabled

I hate to contradict you but you are wrong, the odometer has it's own memory and if you put in a lower mileage IP and disable the odometer error warnning inthe BCU the odometer will work from there all the way to eternity, to see if such manoeuvre was made you have to use the "sync' odometer to BCU" task with nanocom then if the BCU's mileage is higher the odometer will go there as well... and if the value in BCU is lower nothing will happen just that after 16 ignition cycles the BCU mileage will increment to the odometer value

that's deffinitely like that, verified by me many ways.
