Crush cans looked like they did their job. Chassis looked straight still from what I could see. Radiator was still in tact too. No oil leaks or fluid leaks, although 1 reservoir had been pushed back and out of place.

I hope you can get it fixed! If the chassis and bulkhead is straight they shouldnt be allowed to write it off. Find a white d2 wrecking and the repair could be relatively cheap/simple.

    Did the airbags go off?
Too late for anything now, it's already been towed. Waiting to hear back. It was confirmed I wasn't at fault, so I'm hoping that pushes for a fix rather than a write off.

The Xrox is gone. Second time too. I could probably make a full one from the remaining pieces of the first though.

Airbags didn't go off, I assume not enough head on impact. I guess it looks as bad as it does because everything got ripped sideways too.

You might be in luck if the airbags didn't go off Usually that's an instant write off but if they didn't they might actually give it a crack

I would guess they would label it as an economical write off. But with you not being at fault - you may stand a chance of pushing for it to be repaired - all depends on what they offer you for it!

If they do write it off, you should have the option of 1st refusal to buy it back, but I'm not sure if when fixed it'll be rego'd as written off and repaired.

Tell the insurance company you'll buy back only as an unlisted or repairable write off. If they list it as non-repairable, max return they will get will be scrap value.

Because the market value of aD2 is so low now I wouldn't be hopeful...

I'd negotiate a sale with the insurance co back to you.

I had a little bingle a few months ago, the factory bull bar was bent and plastic bumper brekky cracked, grille cracked and the top of the bull bar had pushed back just into the bonnet, which had a very slight bow in it but no marks.
    Only 110,000km on the car.
No panel damage, lights, indicators, etc ok.

The insurance company were going to write it off if the bonnet was replaced.

    The dream might be over

Yeah, get in their ear and see to it that it’s deemed a repairable write off, if not repaired. Let them know ASAP, it will work for both parties.

Guessing the XROX crush cans must have worked as intended, otherwise airbags would have deployed?
