    D2 - TD5 - worth replacing with a V8

My 02 D2 TD5 with 370K on the clock most likely has a cracked head.
I am looking at getting a replacement instead of fixing and keeping mine for parts / wrecking.
There appears to be some low Km V8 D2's on the market - I could almost buy 2 V8's for the price of a TD5.
The one thing that is turning me off of the idea is that I would have limited carry over spare parts from my TD5 - e.g. fuel pump, regulators, filters, etc.
How many reliable Km's could you expect out of a V8?
I have also read that the Auto box could be a bit more troublesome behind the V8 (again my TD5 would not be compatible due to feel housing I am lead to believe)

Beast you know. Replace the engine and keep the car. V8s give less trouble behind the auto afaik.
