Vacuum Ports - 4.0 Thor Plenum

On the drivers side of the 4.0 Thor Plenum are three vacuum ports - see pic

    P6290015.jpg

The top large ports are for the brake booster and sucker for the drivers side rocker cover - not sure what the bottom one is for.

Can someone tell me if the black sucker is for the brakes or the rocker cover and what is the small bottom sucker for?

    Thanks

Black one for rocker cover, red one for brake, small one unused, on mine at least.

Thanks - is there some special connector that goes in for the red brake hole?

Nope!.. just the plastic hose goes straight into the port.
Usually the hose will just slide straight in without any need to touch the red section .. till it butts up against its end spot, but with age(maybe) you may need to press and release the red catch section to help the hose on it's way in.

To remove the hose again, you press the red section inwards and pull on the hose at the same time.

On mine I had trouble getting the hose out the first time, and then getting it back in, as described above. But now that it's been moved/removed it's freed up and works as designed too(quick connect/disconnect).

    Thanks Arthur and Philip.

As I have a different brake vacuum hose I will take out the red plastic and insert a brass outlet fitting suitable for the arrangement I have.

    Cheers
