Ah that depends, I've seen 2 exploded ones, the owners did give them some stick though.

My understanding is that the standard units dont last ling with any lift in a D2. The one I bought for my son had this very problem and the uni in the double cardan was worn so far it was just about to wear through to the grease line. We replaced them with HD Hardie Spicer units, so far ok, but next time will be a Tom Woods shaft as apparently they are designed for a D2 with a lift.

    Seriously ? What broke ?

The uni's are just 1310 Spicer, but the centreing bearing and DC is a lot stronger than stock.

I can only compare a stock 300Tdi Defender shaft to a TW DC shaft, but the Deefer shaft was binding at full droop with 10" travel dampers and the TW DC shaft had a much, much greater operating angle.

Do Jeep Konnection still stock the D2 shaft?

Why would you have abs and TC lights up, unless something else is wrong. How about the off road mode lamp? I'm pretty sure the red centre diff symbol is all you should see on the dash., all being well.
At least you can still drive it though.
