RAM mounts are awesome.
I have OziExplorer on my Samsung7 phone and on my laptop and it is easy to use ( Even I have no difficulties using it) and I have also loaded the Hema7 maps onto the laptop that also work in OziExplorer these should be able to be loaded up on a Tablet as well.[thumbsupbig]
OziExolorer Android really needs Ozi for PC to be really useful .. but is as good a program as you can get.
About $25 and $35 .. money well spent too!
Another mapping program I can recommend will be OSMAnd and a map of Aus.
OSM(Open Street Maps) is an open source and free mapping system for the entire world.
(ie. you don't .. and shouldn't! .. need to buy maps every time they change or add a street or whatever)
Open Street Map is great.
Very few(but some) mapping may be incomplete, or inaccurate .. but on the whole, spot on.
Only thing you don't want is for a program to access an online database to retrieve maps, so you need a program to display downloaded maps.
OSMAnd and download the map of Aus and some data for it, and you'll have all you need. Map of Aus is about 600Mb.
Only problem with OSM mapping is that it can be slow.
I’ve got Hema Explorer but I haven’t used it for a trip yet. How do people find Hema?
