From my post on 4 March 2012...

Fuses 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,12,13,20 are ‘ALWAYS’ powered ‘ON’

Fuses 15,16,18,19, 26,32 are ‘accessory on’ power sources

Fuses 24,25,27,28,30 are ‘ignition on’ power sources

I use ‘add-a-fuse’ or ‘add-a-circuit’ to tap power from the fuse box ...

For your stated purpose I WOULD NOT use a fuse tap. Best practice would be to install an auxillary power socket under the dash connected direct to the the battery. I have done this.

Yep,, and my first thought also was to run cable to the battery,, and I would, if I was dealing with more than 1.something amps,,

even the smallest of the fusebox cables is capable of carrying many times the panel output,

clock/central locking unit, should have a constant feed.
also, be careful how much power you require too.
I can't remember how easy it is to pull the clock/central locking unit out, but I don't remember it being difficult either.
According to RAVE the purple wire is the power feed, running off fuse 20 on the cabin fuse box

I agree, Not only will this be the most efficient way to hook up the small panel it will also give you an additional power outlet
