Be aware that the elements tend to get damaged after years of entering and exiting the vehicle and squishing the seat base. So if they are installed and have been for sometime then they may not actually work when you want them to. They're not that cheap to purchase replacements and genuine seems to be the only supplier.

The switches go on the panel with the power window switches. You would need the correct harness to connect the switches to the seats too. Maybe it's already there, I think a lot of the wiring looms on the D2 includes the wiring for all the top options?
Thanks for the replies, yes there are the two plugs unconnected where the window switches are. So trying to work out what is needed other than the switches themselves ? I am guessing that something still needs to attach to the plug under the seat, but a couple of videos on YouTube, ie British Atlantic, say you just need the switches and new facia panel. I think I still need something more ?

I just got the car back after two months of drivings the wife’s XC90, a friend I often give a lift to has commented how nice the heated seats are, so I have to settle this as I am not going to let the Volvo have something over the Land Rover !!

For the switch side, it's just the two switches and face panel that you require. Easily source from a wrecker or eBay, particularly the USA for cheap.

For the heating side you'll likely need the actual heating elements as if you have low spec seats these won't already be fitted in there - two per seat, one base and one back. Likely around $150.00 AUD + each. You'll then need to remove the seats, remove the fabric covers and fit them and reassemble.

    Then your good to go.

I bought the switches off Ebay a few months ago and after reading this thread made me get my butt into gear. Took me a whole 10 min to do the job. They work brilliantly. And warm up very quicklyHeated Seat connectors?Heated Seat connectors?

Thanks Sprover, even my colour facia plate too !! I got to briefly put a switch in from another Disco last week, the switch light came on, but no heat after about a minute.

We weren't sure which seat it was for and maybe it was driver and didn't work, but the fact that the switch light came on, does that mean everything is already connected ?

I didn't have enough time as I was picking up a part I had bought and he had to be somewhere, so we did a quick change and fitted a switch in the hope that we would notice some heat. It was very difficult to tell if it was body heat or the seat was warming.
