Yes my 96 M3 had blue and my Honda Jazz 2006.5 has blue.

The Honda manual says original fill lasts 10 years and should be changed every 5 years thereafter.

    Regards Philip A

The 5 year interval is due to only replacing 1/2 the coolant. If you flush it out, 10 year is then back in play. I have several Jazz and the D2a to look after, plus others.

Cleaning your spigots and hoses is the only.real.answer and once the inner.rubber liner is penetrated it.wicks out the fabric reinforcement

Quality silicon hoses help.solve the issue.
Thanks again for the last advice. Re silicone hoses - I’ve been researching what’s available, cost and source and came across some information (viperperformance.co.uk) stating that “some” advanced OAT formulas are incompatible with regular silicone hoses.

It’s not clear how old that advice is or if it is still valid for the blue coolant technologyBlue OAT Coolant in a Td5

..... I have found that it is the Ethyhexanoic Acid component in OAT that negatively affects both regular EDPM rubber and regular Silicone rubber hose. Sorta makes me rethink paying the premium price for silicone hoses unless you can be sure that they are the “upgraded” silicone which as you would expect also attracts a further premiumBlue OAT Coolant in a Td5

A lot of them don't have the 2EHA anymore, but I think the original Texaco (Land Rover OAT) version still might.

It definitely isn't compatible with silicone.

The coolant I am looking at buying does have it.... a small percentage but no way of knowing if it is an insignificant amount or notBlue OAT Coolant in a Td5

Maybe look at their red 8yr OAT instead then.
    No hexanoic stuff.

Yup! that's what I'm using however PENRITE now don't recommend their Red 8yr OAT for use in the TD5 - they recommend the Blue OAT. Bloody confusing ......

If using silicone hoses make sure they are fluorsilicone lined to cope with the coolant.
