    well yes and no Peakey,,

    first up, was there oil inside the ecm?
    Have you checked you have the right amount of earth leads? ( clean and tight!)

    Have you asked politely (in the D2 Forum) for nanocom help? You may be surprised--



    anyone else had an ECM go up in smoke?

    No but stranger things have happened
    I don`t think oil was the soul cause for this melt down as these ECU`S are very resilient
    If oil was the cause that would be a very common fault on the Td5 which it aint
