mmm.... Looks the same "Brand"?? as the one I've got with those red bands around the ball joint seals. (also brought from a know reputable supplier local to me) the seals are cracked/split and need replacing only about two years old and really should have split!

Will get a whole new unit just in case! ASAP

Just checked my invoices and doesn't give the manufacturers, just states aftermarket??

    Cheers Lemo

    Bugger.
Pretty sure OE is Lemförder (ZF) and their quality is excellent.
As Mario said Delphi are excellent too.
The only others I'd consider would be TRW and QH.

[Edit]TRW are a ZF company these days, too...

If by seals you mean the boots, Repco sell generic units that I've had success fitting as replacements. There's a thread that I've put up with part number details and pictures.

    cheap ball joints

on a similar note i had a 'cheapest' tie rod end / ball joint "borg" brand from SCA snap the bolt (that pivots) before i could even get required torque on it, got full refund and bought the HD full upgrade arms instead, realising when there is one little bolt holding you from going over the side of a cliff on a steep decent, maybe not best idea to scrimp....

We can't lift more than 50mm because of safety concerns, yet retailers are allowed to sell safety critical parts sourced from god knows where, made of recycled biscuits. FFS
