Thread: EGR delete.

Plus, Steinbauer says it's chips don't increase emissions. All they do is lengthen the duration of the fuel injection cycle in some situations. So I don't see any irony.

They also claim remaps and ecu writes are old tech. EGR delete.

A tune can meet emissions levels for sure, however it’s highly likely it’s showing increases. Safe levels? What’s that mean?

All intercept boxes are dodgy by design. That’s why the bike industry is moving away from them to ECU mapping, it’s far more reliable and effective.

Depending on your settings on that chip you may be alright, you’ve got an EGT gauge haven’t you?

Who are you trying to convince, us or yourself?
More power/torque = more fuel = more pollution.
That's before you factor in the higher fuel consumption, due to more spirited driving, because you can now.

That's not my experience, so obviously we'll have to agree to disagree.

Lengthening the duration doesn't change the emissions for each unit of fuel used, so emissions for fuel used have not altered. Plus our EGR is working to clean it up.

BTW the bit about the Steinbauer cutting power under heavy load does work. I had it happen one time when I was towing a heavy trailer load of mulch up the Maleny hill. Just pulled over, released the throttle, let it idle and then drove off normally. So it does offer protection from excessive usage.

Dave, don't shatter the delusion enjoyed by the selective absorption of wanted to hear material.
