Is this the most comrehensive answer evaHH to a simple question?
Fix the bloody battery.
Regards PhilipA
Okay guys...
Have now replaced battery—old one couldn't take charge.
New problem!
Trying to connect new battery, and alarm/horn sounds!!!
Have tried different scenarios as per:
Bonnet open all the time,
Driver's door open, key in ignition,
Driver's door open, key not in ignition,
Driver's door closed, key not in ignition,
Driver's door closed but not locked, key in ignition,
Driver's door closed and locked.
Do I have to disconnect horn at hot terminal?
—Thanks in advance.
Weird. It sounds like the alarm is still active.
Maybe try, close doors with windows down for access, connect battery, alarm will go off, lock then unlock car to deactivate alarm.
There are 3 horns. 2 beside the radiator pack, one on the PS guard near the firewall.
Cheers

Connect another battery, with jump leads to the terminals, before disconnecting. There are small batteries, with light cables specifically for the purpose of keeping voltage to the computer, or you can improvise.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
You have to give an unlock command with the fob cos if the battery went flat and you opened with the key the BCU got immobilised

(Been away for a while) I'm still having trouble with connecting the new, fully charged battery.
Went to connect it, and the horn started beeping intermittently but at a regular rate. Oh dear!
Removed the 10A horn under-bonnet fuse (#16) and it still beeps. Two questions: Has the previous
owner fiddled with the electrics in order to somehow bypass the fuse, and/or, how can the horn
even work with its fuse removed?
The Disco user manual doesn't give me any help whatsoever—it's so light on technically.![]()
Alarm have its own horn .fuse wont help
The alarm has a separate sounder and eventually BBUS(battery backed up sounder) too and the factory setting is for "BBUS" if fitted or "Both"
the sounder settings are as follows, selectable with tester:
Alarm = Audible warnings are given by the security system sounder only.
Both = Audible warnings are given by both the security system sounder and the vehicle horn.
Vehicle = Audible warnings are given by the vehicle horn only.
BBUS = Audible warnings are given by the security system sounder, vehicle horn and BBUS.
Alarm sounder = 8, BBUS = 12

I removed my bonnet switch. BTW it is the opposite of most switches as it is closed circuit with the bonnet open and open circuit with it closed. So if you remove and insulate the wires the alarm thinks the bonnet is closed.
