    Hi guys,
my stock except for snorkel 03 D2 over the time we have owned it (4 yrs) averages 9.8l/100k according to vehicle manager program (used for work). Yesterday I went to Nelson from Chch and topped up early at Blenheim cos I was taking a scenic route home and over the 556km it did 10.02l/100. I don't drive it like a nanny. One thing I have noticed though is that there isn't any real variation between empty car round town to loaded camping car on a trip, it's always seems to be around 10l/100.

    Cheers, jamesNZ

Hey JameNZ, it is JamesAU here, lol.

I think you have a good stock form.

With mine, I have to count in an ARB bull bar with spotlight and LED bar, bigger tyres with spare, and Rhino roof rack, and a bit of my quick foot style, so it returns 12L/100km I am happy. I remember that when I was using stock tyres 235/70/r16 or 255/55/r18 it had about 10% better fuel drink.

Comparing this with my ex-Prado Grande Auto Turbo diesel 120 series: 14-15L/100; or my ex-Landcruiser Turbo diesel 80 series manual 14-15L/100km, or my ex- Pajero Turbo diesel Auto 14L/100km, then the D2 manual is the winner.

Thats not bad fuel economy on your D4 for a petrol variant. My wifes MY12 D4 2.7 TDV6 6 speed automatic transmission (low spec variant, lower power, smaller engine, single turbo model diesel rather than the twin turbo 3.0L) with 170k km averages between 10-11 km on her city driving to and from work/running the kids around etc. It goes down to low 9's on a highway run. It has the Bell Auto Services 227HP/530Nm ECU remap and EGR deactivation.

Yes..we are happy with it..cheaper to run than the D2a and a much better car to drive all round...esp when towing..it just eats up any load. I backed a 3.5t trailer of fire wood up a guys steep front lawn..only one wheel slip in low range..his eyes were wide open...😃

    My 2007 TDV6SE gives me 9.5 per 100klm around town and 9.3 / 100klm out of town...
