    I would think 15w-50 would cause drag when cold on the TD5, but if I remember correctly yours had quite high k's

    Apologies to the OP as we are digressing.....white smoke and runs on 4 cylinders when cold

    Yes - had over 450K at the time I tried the 15W-50. Originally to improve oil pressure over summer, but then found it was too thick for winter.

    But this is idle chat filling in time.

    IVe seen random missfires caused by a poorly handled injector harness having cracked wiring ad the injector plugs, might be worth a look.
