Hey everyone,
Just wondering has anyone used nulon 5w-30 long life or nulon of any kind.
Heard great reviews from non land rover owners but didn't know if it would be the same for a td5.
Thanks
Nulon is my goto oil and coolant for the TD5,

I used to use the Nulon 5W-30 for several years until I heeded Rick 130 advice and changed to Penrite HPR 5diesel 5w-40 semi synthetic because of its added zinc. Now I find he has moved to HPR5EVO? and the price of HPR 5 has increased to the extent that Nulon 5W-40 full synthetic is the same price.
I have enough HPR5 for the next change so after that I will consider my options.
The 5W-30 seemed fine but I do not notice a difference really between it and the HPR5. I change oil at about 7-8KK anyway.
Maybe the 5W-30 leaked out a bit more! But leaks seem to get worse over time anyway.

The 5W/30 is good for ambient temperature range from below -30C to 35C
It get above 35C here. I use 5W/40 good for below -30C to above 40C
To be honest I can understand the low temp additives, but how hot does the oil get as the ambient temp goes up?

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.
