Must admit the shifter on an angle would drive me crazy. No doubt it is something you will get used to.
Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Having been with a shoulder that is not able to operate as normal, with putting this in the easiest manner to push, let alone pull, the angle was great. Would suggest the pull down the line is best for the manufacturer as it is easiest to make for both LH and RH drive, but as to the optimum, it is the push and pull as to the angle from where are naturally in the position for to do this.
Ergonomics as science is about the natural, not the easiest to manufacturer or make acceptable for both LH and Rh Drive. Therefore with the short throw of the shifter, being along the line of NATURAL push and pull, makes sense to me and will make it more natural, rather than adapted to, especially along a steep track with the sphincter being squeezed.
I may be wrong...
