Yellow being the removed section of the pipes
My thoughts at the moment are take my already 'modified at the cooler end' lines to Pirtek and add the xxAN connectors to the lines at the transmission end, where exactly will be examined as to where the best support will be and now the to be fitted Oil Thermostat.
1. Just out the gearbox for 1.
2. Where the pipes join together on the drivers side of the gearbox.
Basically it makes it easier to make smaller adjustments of the current set up which runs neatly around the engine bay.

When my front shaft let go (and took out the back of the trans..) The lines you have high lighted also got damaged, as it was too hard to source replacements I simply brazed on a couple of AN fittings and used some Push-Lok hose (good for 300 psi) pretty simple to do. I'm planning or sourcing some Ali AN fittings to weld onto the cooler directly then probably run flex hose all the way to reduce the failure points and give the options of temp monitor/additional/modified cooler at a later date.
Pritek/Enzed or basically any hose place should be able to sort this out for you, or if you none close by you may be able to use crush "olive" type tube fittings as the sizing's would be fairly common
cheers

How's this conversation progressing??
I see on the Online Gearbox Parts website production was due to begin in mid September, pending demand/deposits.
Yes still waiting on the delivery / notification of production, have been away for a week so am going to follow this up tomorrow.
The controller also requires a follow up as they are expected to start deliveries at the end of this month. Spent a lot of time of the wiki page - not overly clear in many instances - and the xHP flash tool site.
It would appear on the F series (early gearbox) that they are able to provide up to 12 operating modes as standard within the box GCU which if far too many of course to program. But using the standard D2 modes of sport, manual low and normal is all that is required with maybe one more for such as sand. For this I am looking up how the terrain response works in newer LR's and trying to work what they do to each system.
Have got the gearbox delivered at least, still seems like a steal at only $2.45K delivered.

As I have already done the fronts for the P38 cooler, then due to the tightness at the cooler end had to get the 90 degree bends in there. That little bracket was all it took to convert to the P38 fitting

BMW X5 (N15) with the 3.0 TD6 N57 (not M57) motor, which came with the ZF 8sp Auto which is the 8HP70X. They often advertised as the GA8HP70X.
Into ebay, do your search as BMW X5 8HP70 and they will come up.
Make sure it has the correct code, including the X (4WD/AWD) on the end.

Well syncro gearboxes got back to me,
"For all who ordered these are now in manufacturing. The estimated completion date is 31/10/23"
So still at least 6 weeks till delivery for the adaptors.
Still waiting on the delivery dates from HTG but am now going over the wiring diagrams, attached, which while I am not a electrical engineer seem pretty self explanatory. Asking from HTG re the wiring harness and exactly how this will setup against the current transmission.

As Slunnie said, the search for the gearbox is simple such as BMW X5 TRANSMISSION GEARBOX #E5335 GA8HP70X 020057 07/10 AUTO, DIESEL, 3.0, xDRI | eBay
THere is also the 6 speed gearbox - which come up on searches which confuses the searches.
Mine actually came from Gumtree from a wrecker in QLD, X5 with 122K's.

There is gold and liquid gold, ZF Transmission require the liquid kind. Was expecting Castrol Transmax style sticker prices but no, this stuff is upwards of $60 per litres with many trying for much more around the $80 mark. A full fill is around 8.5 litres accounting for the cooler and lines as well.
As the plastic pan is also changed which houses the filter insitu this required some serious searching. With exchange rates as they are and the cost of transport rising it was still considerably cheaper to go US with a pan and 7 litres kit with a couple more litres thrown in. $60+ AUD versus just $15.39 US per litre, even with shipping geez! Choice as with the oil to go ZF OME rather than Chinese Pan was another no brainer here and considerably cheaper again.
Interestingly on the website it an about ZF blurb, there are many names here that LR D2 owners know
The ZF family of brands includes Lemforder, TRW, Sachs, ZF, Wabco, Boge and Stabilus
I hadn't thought of them as anything other than the Transmission company, though must find out who makes their oil after this excercise.
So as Redd alluded to in an earlier post, the need for the thermostat to keep the oil warm is required and this here was fixed by ordering a High-Flow Engine & Transmission Oil Cooler Thermostat (improvedracing.com)
Went with a temp setting -165F (74C) - based around the info as to where the box likes to sit and the P38 trans cooler is now probably larger than required.
