I've been really keenly following you with this! It looks like the parts needed are all coming together really well if the components are selected carefully.

In some ways the delays have been a blessing (shoulder aside) but hopefully this is the most elegant solution available and seemingly it looks like simplifying the install beyond my imagination, was not looking forward to body off as a case in point but at one stage it looked like the best solution. Cant really believe how many searches I have done on finding out what should be basic information available in the internet world and in some cases still do not have definitive answers for. Still someone has to do it and being incapacitated I suppose has allowed me to do such.

Probably my biggest mistake to date was being hoping to be reliant on the goodwill of some companies, their choice as to how they disseminate information so no grudges here. That said there are companies that have given information without hope of monetary benefit.


One of the things I didn't note regarding using the Disco switch panel was the use of the available 'usb switch' - that being the HTG IO Can box has a usb port for tuning and upgrades, as I am looking to install the box under the centre console, it makes sense to not have to pull up the console to do such.

More discussions with the plate supplier and Having been searching for reasonable pictures of the insides of the D2 chassis, it appears that the D2a chassis is not the same as the D2 chassis. Not able to find the differences but this struck me as strange as it was not something I had read or heard of before. So, not sure how this will impact the finished product and availability for others to use the plate potentially in the D2A.

Therefore the differential we are looking at is


760mm for the TD5 4HP22 against the 8HP with adaptors being 814mm gives a differential between the two of only 54mm or roughly 2", heaven is only a couple of bolts away!!!!

As 1 change, IIRC the body outrigger brackets were made more substantial because they were prone to cracking.
