SupporterI'm backing this idea. The cost of rebuilding vs a ZF8 which is miles better, is pretty similar.

SubscriberYes AFAIR when ZF Sydney stopped rebuilding the 4HP22EH they trained Wholesale Transmissions in Melbourne to do it.
Be careful re the eight speed. You would have to control it with a stand alone Transmission control Unit and I do not know if there is one for ZF.
And I think the back end of the transmission is completely different.

By all accounts it's a good outcome.
But don't think you'll get away with anything like the cost of a rebuild.

I believe there are many more options out there in terms of adapters, wiring etc etc. but yes, you will probably be spending slightly more, albeit for a better outcome.
