i had an 01& then changed it for one built 1/04.apart from the cdl there are a few other differences.

headlights are way better...a vast improvement
some switches on dash are different ,as is speedo
torque rating is up for auto td5,but you dont notice any different, power is the same
generally car seems more refined & quieter inside
if you pick up a 'classic' it was a good value run out model.came in either 'town' or 'country' pack.mine was town....has leather, floor mats, reversing sensors...very handy,18' rims & a few other things i cant remember them all
i did a deal & kept the 16' rims as they are better off road.

the 04 for one is the best of the 3 td5's i have had....the last of any model is usually the best.

as mine are company cars i usually change them over every 3 yrs,but have held onto this one as i dont know what to raplace it with....but thats another storey

the specs...departure angles etc are all the same only differ depending on wether rear air suspension is fitted or not.... it is usually only on 7 seat models

    hope the above helps

ther were a few other minor changes but i cant remember what they were

    OK Great thanks for that.

Do you worry about the rear air suspension or just install a lift kit for the extra lift? Or you find the 21 deg depature OK?

the departure is more on sls models(self levelling suspenson) as i think it will rise the car if needed another 40mm or so at the rear.

the one i have now has standard coils & dont have any real problems, although dont do any very hard off roading.

depends what you intend to do ....sometimes there is never enough rear departure angle

hi all. new to this forum. On my second DII. First was a 99 TD5 auto. CDL fitted. needed a 10mm spanner to operate. Current is an 03 V8 man. CDL and factory lever. its my understanding that 99-01 had the CDL (no lever, only left in for rolling road testing). somewhere in 02 it dissapeared and in the IIa (late 02 really an my03) it returned with the linkage and all.
