Looking goood!!
Can't wait to see it finished
TIM.
Well after my rear bar was smashed the other weekend, I've decided to get to it and make my own rear bar. Having looked at other bars, I pretty much had an idea what I wanted it to look like. I wanted to look like the standard bar, but at the same time have good strength and give me better departure angle. I also wanted to keep it as light as possible. I used 2mm gal steel sheet, its easy enough to shape and when "boxed" right and given a good frame on the inside, it should have good strength.
This what I've done so far. I still need to to reinforce the inside of the whole bar, cut the holes for the lights, and grind everything smooth so it looks good. So still a few hours of work left.
I chopped the bottom rear quarters, but only the little rim where the finishing plastic is meant to be. I don't think there's a worse feeling than butchering your pride and joy with an angle grinder, but i must say, it came out OK.
I still have plenty to do, but will hopefully have it all done in the next few days.
Cheers

Yes looking good.
Good work![]()
So you listened and actually cut some of your quarters away. I'm interested to see what it looks like in the flesh. Looks good so far.
I have finally finished my rear bar!!
For the amount of work and hours that went into it, I am really happy with how it came up. Here are some pics, I apologise for the bad quality, I only had my phone on me. But its better than nothing I suppose.
I will probly put some checker plate on top, just to for some grip to get in and out of the car, and to stop the paint from getting rubbed off.
Next up, are some sliders and some diff guards, can't wait to get started with them.
Cheers

Looks good Hendrik just another thing to add to my list of things to do.![]()
I reckon slot a bit of black chequer plate between the bar and the side trim on the rear quater to hide that bit of green showing through and it will look even more the goods![]()
