Hi all,
Due to the new front bar i am having fitted next week i need to relocate the washer bottle from its current location because it will be fully exposed. My questions are
1. Has anyone done this before (and has pictures)
2. Any ideas on a new washer bottle to use (D1, repco etc)
3. And your thoughts on where to mount it (stiil thinking about the planned second battery)

It may possible be the same as the Dweb one, but quite a few of the US people have fitted D1 bottles to the firewall after fitting the slim front bars.

Our solution was to protect the washer bottle with some 3mm aluminium checker plate. This has withstood the tests of time - thousands of kms of dirt and gravel roads. The holes in the bottom are so it can be cleaned. This is fitted to an ARB winch bar. We have a similar plate on both sides.
Please excuse the dirt - we have a 1/2km gravel / dirt driveway.

Thanks for the help, i like the idea of the checkerplate but the problem still is that if i leave it in the same location i would have to make o acomplete square box.
I should have mentioned that the new bar i am fitting is a britpart tube bar similar to the one fitted to the white D2 on the cover of the new 4wd action mag.

Looks great. I've got plenty of aluminium checker plate out next to the shed, so would also appreciate any further details / measurements / angles etc. Mine has an ECB bar fitted, but the principle looks pretty much the same.

I made these inner guard extensions about 8 years ago using a cardboard template and going from there - probably still the best way, although it took a few attempts.
The main section is 40cm wide and the fold is at 90 degrees to the side. The inside angle is around 135 degrees and the outside angle (away from the engine) is 125 degrees. ( Fold at the greater angle and then twist.)
The panel is cut at an angle to fit inside the lip of the winch bar, in our case 235mm on the outside and 435mm on the inside, but do this to your own measurements - make it a little longer and trim it.
On the verticle section, the first 20cm is straight (400mm wide) and then the panel tapers inward from both sides.
Fastening is with 2 screws drilled through the inner guard at the top and 3 screws along the front edge of the bar. Also sikaflex against the inner guard. This does not rattle or vibrate.
The material measured around 2 mm on the flat section of the checkerplate.
The windscreen washer bottle is about 25mm above the checkerplate. This photo is of the right (drivers) side.
about 39mm holes were cut randomly at the base so the section wouldn't fill with mud etc and could be kept clean.
I used to have a rubber dress trim between the bullbar and the guard but this has vanished long ago.
If anyone wants more info please ask.
