LOL schuy1, he is a cleveland bay sport horse. black/brown and white and gigantic! his legs go on forever. i expecte dhim to mature 16.2/3 but hes that already! jsut constant growth it never stops! hes awesome though :) gentle giant. already looks after me and my disabilities. will have ltos of fun with him! once i get a helicpter jsut to get on him with!
Cleveland Bay sport horse? Not famil with those. More Aussie stock horses /Campdrafters , Arabs and racehorses up here . But I do know there are a lot of "exotics" around :D 2yo and 16.2 huh? I have visions of you having a mounting system as per the knights of old, a windless and ropes!! :D :D
Hey , Whats the definition of a quarter horse? 1/4 horse, 3/4s donkey!! :D :D :D
Cheers Scott
LOL yeah hes not exotic as such LOL, cleveland bay is one of the oldest european breeds there is. not a lot of them here but they are gaining popularity. i like him as he is outside the norm with his breeding nto the same as every other warmblood that is tb/hanovarian, etc LOL. hes 25% cleve, but then the rest is stockhorse/tb. so hes going to be a brilliant, yet huge horse! my other is a tb, and seriously never having an ex racehorse again, they are so damaged from racing so young. hes awesome. but always so accident prone! hes brilliant natured though, not many race horses that can be ridden essentially no handed! my other old boy is a standy. hes 26 this year poor old man nearing end of his journey :( ive had him for most of my life!
i have no idea how im going to get on him when time comes! probably somethign like that, or he will park next to my landy and ill use it as a mounting block :D i wasactually thinking of training him to lift me on by putting his neck down, and then i climb on then if he puts his head up i can wiggle to the saddle. i weigh i think 60 kg maybe not quite, so that would be nothing to a giant like him!
haha! yeah he seems to be competition with camel heights!! hes grown bit more since you saw him!!
A camel huh? I suspect most horses are not real keen to be compared to a camel :D They do not appear to get on well in real life HaHaHa! Yep can relate to racing destroying any sense a horse may have had. Brother had 1 nice horse but if another horse trotted past him he was OFF! And couldnt be pulled up :o would do the same with cattle, just couldnt stand to have any thing in front of him. Grey hounds are another classic, lovely dogs but totally without a brain! . Not a good pet unless they have never raced.
:)
Hi everyone, Have been skulking around this forum for a few years now, though I was under a previous user of "The Bullfrog" which no longer suited my current vehicle, so I figured I would go something generic..
Below is my 2000 Discovery Td5 Auto.. which is in pristine condition for its age and only has 160,000km on the clock!! (But have done the head gasket 3 times due to a bad fuel map!! Running standard now)
As purchased plus added spot lights

Added roof bars, awning and 265/60x18 BFG A/T's
http://www.aulro.com/afvb/attachment...1&d=1377669877
Current guise and all nice and clean. now has D2a intercooler, 2+ inch OME lift, 2.5 inch mandrel exhaust, caged roof rack, ARB bulbar, winch, diff protectors, dual batteries, twin air compressors etc, plus the standard SLS and ACE (Which I personally think are great!)
https://www.aulro.com/afvb/
And last one of it showing some flex on a tree stump

Left to sort out is: replacing some more items that are probably due to go ie original SLS air bags, as the fuel pump just died on me so I have decided to try and replace things before they go.., sort a correct fuel map that won't reach 1100 degree EGT's!!, Sill protectors, rear bar, rear storage compartment, cross member spacer to allow front tailshaft to flex.
And some roadside assist insurance to give my wife some peace of mind when we go away (after three head gasket issues!!) as I can't bring myself to sell it :-)
Cheers
