    Battery Recommendations for 01D2V8

Does anyone have any recommendations on a good value battery for a Disco V8 Series II?

Any that have at least 550cca.

Spend as much or little as you like, the heat under the hood makes them all die in a very short time anyhow.

hmmm, I dunno big-guy, I got over 5 years out of the last one in the D1,

The one in the D2 I replaced was nearly 4 years,

you should get a calcium/calcium battery due to the high charging volts,,

    Thats great.

I never ever had such luck.

When I am due next, i guess I will source the same as you mentioned, problem is, I never had a car that long.
I just don't like having the battery as the weakest link as it either works or not and when they don't, You go no where. Well, in an auto anyway.

    I shall do some research.

In my 2000 V8 I ran an Exide Extreme that was still going fine after 4 years when I sold it.

I had 2 calcium batteries in my 2001 D2V8 - both lasted 2.5 years only before total failure.
Have had a Optima yellow top (900CCA, 75AH) for 3 years now, with no hiccups. Being an AGM, the main benefits are fast charging, high output, withstands deep discharging better, and the optimas are reported to be more vibration resistant. Downside is the high price tag....

    Appreciate the feedback from all.

I am currently sourcing batteries and are ranging from $196 to $300.

Not sure about the cost of a 900CCA.

I'd rather not ask for a price to avoid the shock!

I had to replace the starting battery on my DII V8, so I went to my friendly LR dealer to get a TD5 battery instead, because I wanted the biggest possible battery that can fit in the bay.

I can't remember what I paid for the battery but it wasn't all that expensive. Have you checked with your dealer the price for a TD5 battery?

If you decide on a Optima Red or Yellow Top, I'll get you a price.
Last Red Top (Starting Battery, 800cca) was about $320 delivered.
