What a simple but effective Idea.
I recently had some work done at Jordan Rover Tech in Perth and one of the things they did fit a CDL activation lever. I showed them the design from the Rover Shoppe in the USA (see link below - they stopped making and selling them a couple of years ago - I spoke to their chief mechanic) but they made some changes to it.
The Rover Shoppe: Products
The CDL is activated by getting out of the car, kneeling down and reaching under the vehicle to pull it.
If the engine is running when you do this the TC and ABS remain active. To disable TC and ABS all I need to do is turn off the car, get out, pull the lever to activate the CDL and start it up again.
When I'm done doing the harder stuff I just get out and push the lever back in again.
I spoke to Kevin Falconbridge who runs Jordan Rover Tech in Perth (link below)and he has now fitted a few more to his regular customers. He has fabbed up 10 more and they are good to go:

Did he give a cost for the Lever? I am having the CDL internals fitted in a few weeks and will need to activate it. TIA Dazza
I have that lever too, made it at home with scrap pieces of steel. While it might be a bit agricultural it didn't cost me a cent. Will build an in-cab lever soon, as i find it a bit annoying to get out and engage it.
Cheers

Dazza,
You'll have to give him a call. Mine was the first one and I paid for the labour. Can't remember how much. Sorry
Simon
i just rang the bloke and he wants 550 fitted hes got rocks in his head, tell him hes dreaming
This is rediculous. Have I got this right, 550 for that simple undercar lever?

...hehehe...for that it would want to include the internals in those models that have none...
Nice work
An easy diy project!!!

HOW much?!?!
Like a few others I made and fitted this one myself by using those same specs, I did find however that I needed to make the actual lever about 50mm longer.
Doesn't take long and can be made very cheaply. I'm a great supporter of RoverTech, but for that price, or for a little extra, I'd be expecting some form of in-car actuator.
