Looks awesome. Your right about the ride, it is much better. I installed mine in under 4 hours as well, there's nothing to it really.

Hi All,
Today with help from my neighbour we installed my 2" lift kit from Tombie and new Dobinson coils and Bilstein shocks. I took some photos and will post them up. Here is what she looked like before we started
These are the comparsion shots of front coils and shocks
This is the front installed
This is SLS kit parts installed
Rear Completed
After Lift
Out for a play
The last photo doesn't look too exciting but we were having too much fun to stop, the only reason we stopped, was to clear trees from the tracks (recent wind storms @ Wombat State Forest).
The ride from the new suspension setup is just amazing, much more controlled and surefooted. The old shocks had no rebound left, push them in and they never came back out, no wonder it rode so hard over bumps. It seems like the TC doesn't kick in as much on broken surfaces. The front has actually been lifted about 3" from what it was and the back just over 2", the measurements seem strange but it looks level and the front springs are HD items (just waiting on bar work). Overall very happy, it took about 4 hours to do complete job for two of us, it wasn't a rushed pace and if we did it again, it would probably take about 3 hours.
Cheers Matt![]()

Matt, looks good. I had Billies and Kings installed about 1 month ago and made a huge difference particularly in the front.
It was eveident that the front springs and shocks were gone.
What also confirmed this is we had a 75mm increase in height from the front. Like yours it now sits level.
Cheers

Hi Matt,
I know it was a while ago, but could you please forward details of the billies you installed on the rear with your SLS.
I can't find a part number anywhere for a shock suitable for SLS, ACE and a 2" lift.
I tried the Terrafirma +2, but the ride is very harsh; I'm looking for something nice and soft.

Hi Biggin,
The Bilsteins I bought were:
Bilstein F4-BE5-B994-MO & F4-BE5-B995-MO
They were bought from Shane at Suspension Stuff, at the same time I got stone guards for the rear shocks (F4-BE5-B995-MO). I would say the ride is still firm but a vast improvement on standard, but not soft.
Hi Franz,
The vehicle in question has rear airbags, so spring rate in rear cannot be changed.
Cheers Matt
Thanks again Matt,
I'm tossing up between the Billies and Koni 82-2569's. I'll probably go with the softer of the two, if I can find out which is softer.
In the meantime I may replace the Terrafirma +2's with the standard length ironman shocks I had on originally.
The ironman are okay for length providing I don't use off road mode.

I'm really happy with the Bilsteins and I don't think there would be too much between the Billies or Koni's in terms of ride, most times my car is empty and the ride is fine, if anything the front is stiffer because I have HD coils and still have not invested in front bar work.
Cheers Matt
