it will bolt straight in, they are simmilar in length. you will however need a D2 input flange for the trans case as the bolt patterns are different.
the differance is about 20mm.
left is the D2 and right is the defender one, as you can see the defender one has a wider uni cross. i took this end off (pulled the slip joint apart) and
fitted it into the D2 shaft, so i had DC joint at one end and a wide uni at the other. the splines have the locators in the same place for phasing.
i got the D2 flange kit from karcraft, bout $130
